The ‘Institute for International Cooperation and Development’ (IICD) opened as a nonprofit organization in the State of Michigan in 1997. The focus of our activities is to help bridge the gap between people from different cultures around the world, creating an understanding and sense of community between us, so that we can join experiences and forces to create a better world.
The preparation we provide for our participants is to promote humanitarian efforts as ‘Development Instructors’ focusing on communities that are suffering from poverty. Ours is an opportunity for ordinary people to do something extra ordinary that will impact them for the rest of their lives.
As a Development Instructor you become the one who can facilitate positive change in people, communities, and the world. As a community leader you work as a member of a team and mobilize people. You will contribute and partner with many organizations in the USA in the capacity of a volunteer, developing your skills in preparation to contributing at a project in Africa or Latin America.
