Community Guidelines for My Green Face

Please read the important guidelines below. If you have questions about these guidelines, or notice any behavior in violation of these guidelines, please report the issue.  Note that this link is in the lower right corner of every website page. 

My Green Face is a website open to anyone 13 years of age and older.  Because a variety of people come together here, it is important to follow basic rules of etiquette and be respectful of your fellow members.  Also, keep it clean and keep it green. 

Some things are not allowed. Violating these guidelines is damaging to the community—and could result in having your membership cancelled and your content removed from the site. 

• Directly soliciting members for funds or donations.  It is permissible to form a Group and solicit funds for an organization, but you must clearly indicate whether or not the organization is a 501-c-3 federally recognized nonprofit.  You can also post a Discussion and encourage people to donate to a cause.  But you are NOT allowed to contact members and ask them donate money or goods, or ask any member for a loan or to give you money.

• Asking members for dates.  There are many fine green and vegetarian dating sites—but this is not one of them.  It is not appropriate to use the site to make romantic connections. 

• Posting content stronger than PG-13.  We have members as young as 13 and request your assistance in keeping the site child-friendly and non-offensive.  It is not appropriate to post anything erotic, suggestive, or pornographic in the form of images, video, or text.  Do not post any content that is vulgar or obscene or contains adult themes or images, including sexual commentary or imagery.  If you are unsure about whether something is appropriate, it probably isn't.

• Selling products or services outside of the Marketplace.  Please use the free Marketplace to promote your products and services so that everyone can easily find them.    It is permissible to use a Group, Blog, or Discussion to direct people to the Marketplace to find your product or service.  It is permissible to send people offsite to make a purchase. 

• Being a public nuisance.  Please do not post copyrighted material without proper attribution.  Do not use vulgar or abusive language, or engage in name-calling, insults, harassment, spamming, flaming, baiting and/or personal attacks.  Do not encourage others to engage in this behavior.  Do not make threats against people.  Do not post non-green material. 
  
  

Parental Responsibility. If you, as a parent or guardian, permit any child under the age of 18 to join and/or view this website, please be aware that you are responsible for the safety and security of your child, as well as remaining vigilant to what he/she may read on the site. While we monitor posts as closely as possible, we cannot guarantee that we have caught 100% of any offensive content.  Also, the minimum age for using this website is 13. 

Guard Your Personal Information. Non-members have access to reading posts and profiles on our site. Any person is eligible to join this network. Therefore, we highly discourage members from posting personal information such as telephone number, home address, or other specific information which may make your location easily discovered by others. If you’d like to share such information with other members, we advise you to do so after careful thought, and to exercise caution,.  My Green Face is not liable or responsible for any damages incurred as a result of sharing said information.

Report any problems.  If you become aware of any content that may violate these guidelines, or have any concerns, please promptly report the issue and our community administrators will look into it as quickly as possible.
