It is a catch word used by many governments and companies now to endorse products and proposals that are far from sustainable, any furfies that you are aware of? My greatest concern with this one is that polluting companies buy off the general public to create an image that is not greatly true.See More

Not many jobs about for over 50's. How does this effect you?, I have ageing parents, 80yrs and I am 50 , I cannot help to support them and they have no resources left to help me!See More

When Did You First Realize You Were Green?
As a teenager, living on a farm on the Murray river. I loved animals and the land. I collected, pressed, and researched native plants as a high school project, 1977
How Do You Want to Make the World a Better Place?
I have run down once a general store/LPO in a small country town, Vic. I wish to open as a community store encouraging locals to contribute with produce, art and books and one day a cafe to meet and exchange experiences and ideas. I have been involved/employed in Vic indigenous plants, Friends of the Earth, Go organic Fitzroy and Macro wholefoods, all in Mebourne. It is my mission to bring the best of those worlds to my small town. When and if I can afford to. We already have seed savers, organic herb growers, gardeners/orchadists, farmers, artists and the like. Act locally think globally.

PLATYPUS

Posted on June 24, 2011 at 10:12am 0 Comments

Hi there I  just read the news on global warming effecting platypii, I live now, in temperate victoria in Elmhurst near Ararat. We are platypus country, our town emblem, it was the highest poplation recorded in the 50's, but due to the drought and  land clearing the populations have diminished to rare. Our local landcare group project platypus are reveging the waterways for protecting breeding habitats, particularly in the upper reaches of the Wimmera river, here in Elmhurst.

Hello Alison, I hope that these changes are made with grace, humility and integrity towards our indigineous people. I feel that a large part of our society's disconnection is caused by the inabillity to accept our indigineous culture and people. I will certainly try to keep up to date with hopefully the positive changes that are needed for the equality of humans and their rights. How slow the process works, how long the heart aches. Hope all is well with you. Alison

Hi there Alison, yes , I know and have visited those places in melb that you mentioned, in fact i had a small army of devoted people who would go to friends of the earth and pick up loads of info for the shop.  I was able to achieve my dream by living it. It sounds as though you have a wealth of colours already there around you and you just have to be the canvas ready to paint! It does require vision, energy and an open desire to inspire, inform and connect with others, but it can be done! Enjoy the journey, and have a good day! Cheers Alison
